Absolutely brilliant!

I’ve been looking for a way to keep my snowboards at my apartment in an out of the way position, but didn’t have room in my closets. So I decided to make it part of my wall! I hung up the first board, but need to get my shorter board to hang above it.
This is an absolutely beautiful house. If I ever do finally buy a house in Tahoe, I want it to be this house.

Love the beat, love Mary’s vocals, love Weezy’s verse. “Can’t spell them without me. It’s them or me.”
I need to get a bunch of parts in order to continue restoration. On the agenda is to order these parts:

I like Kid Cudi. I like him, but don’t love him. Until I saw this video. His music, for the most part, got too spacy and out there for me to listen to continously. But after seeing this video, it just makes more sense. His style, his flow, his message. And the constant reawakening is just trippy.
Painting the rear axle, originally uploaded by jonjon113.
The work on this was actually done the previous weekend, but I’ll just tag it as today’s date for blogging purposes.
My current focus is on rebuilding the rear end of the car. This includes the rear axle and rear leaf springs. Both of these pieces were covered in quite a bit of dirt and rust. After giving both a good scrub down (the rear differential took QUITE a bit of scrubbing) and hosing off, I was left with a “clean” surface with quite a bit of rust. To clean that up, Eastwood’s Rust Converter and Encapsulator did an awesome job. This shot shows the rear axle and leaf springs after being sprayed the with rust encapsulator. Looks really good if you ask me. Both are going to be hit with a coat of Eastwood Chassis Black primer and a couple coats of Chassis Black gloss for top coat. In the mean time, I need to research what I can use as replacement pads to go between the leaves.
There are leaf pads from Summit Racing that look like they might fit the bill. There are also leaf pads that would fit a Chevy Nova, but I need to research the dimensions on those.
I’ve also read on forums of people just cutting nylon pucks from a rod. Not sure which route I will go yet, but definitely need to figure that out before the sun comes out again. When the sun comes out, I’ll be able to apply the top coats to both pieces and reassemble.
